Course – New PTN-128 Performance Reporting
Over 170 persons were trained last year at 11 training sessions across the state on the new PTN-128 reporting requirements. A one-day training session is being offered for new staff (PTC's and Providers) that have not been trained or those that would like refresher training.

Heart of Texas Regional Transportation Coordination Council Meeting
The Heart of Texas Regional Transportation Coordination Council Meeting will be held on Friday, September 28, 2007, at 10:00 a.m., at the Heart of Texas Council of Governments, located at 1514 S New Road, Waco, TX. See the agenda for more information. At this meeting TxDOT will present a Preliminary Program of Projects (POP) for elderly and disabled (5310) transportation grant funding in fiscal year 2008 for the HOTCOG region. The region's transit providers contributed to the development of the POP.

NRC Steering Committee Creation
The Community Transportation Association is seeking individuals willing to serve as state or local representatives on the Steering Committee for the National Resource Center for Human Service Transportation Coordination (NRC). Membership will be drawn from federal, state and local officials and organizations, and the NRC will work to ensure that at all times during the life of the project participants from human service organizations representing various interests are included in the makeup of the committee. All applications must be received by Friday, July 20, 2007.

TxDOT's proposal for a $75,000 United We Ride (UWR) grant was accepted by FTA!
Grants of approximately $27,500 each will be made to remove or diminish a specific, identified constraint to coordination. There is no match requirement and funds can be used for planning, travel, administration and computer hardware and software. Operating and other capital expenses are not eligible. The application deadline is September 26, 2006. The application process is covered in the following documents: Announcement, Statement of Interest, and Request for Participants. Everyone, please give us your opinion on the constraints using the Issue Prioritization Survey whether you submit a proposal or not.

At the June Best Practices Roundtable, the Study Group suggested an outline be drafted to assist regions in preparing coordination plans. The DRAFT outline was prepared as a collaborative effort involving the Study Group, TxDOT, regional representatives, and TTI. Heart of Texas Council of Governments Establishes a Planning Committee
The Heart of Texas Council of Governments (HOTCOG) has established a Planning Committee to spearhead the project of developing a regional service plan. The committee has already met on multiple occasions. This committee voted in John Hendrickson from Waco Transit as the chairperson and Chris Evilia from Waco MPO as the statistician. TTI is moving ahead with the state-wide inventory of public transportation resources on behalf of TxDOT.
